Reme Navarro, pharmacist and nutritionist: "Sleeping on your left side improves digestion and facilitates circulation."

When it comes to sleeping, there are some positions that are more beneficial to your health than others. This is what pharmacist and nutritionist Reme Navarro has explained, opening a debate among her followers about sleeping on the left or right side in a video posted on social media. She suggests that "if you sleep on your right side, you're sleeping wrong."
According to Navarro, " sleeping on your left side has many benefits, more than you think," which range from improving digestion, blood circulation, and even the lymphatic system.
The first benefit is that it's good for your gut. "Sleeping on that side will help food move more easily through your digestive system." This also helps reduce heartburn, as it "reduces gastric reflux and improves sleep quality," he adds.
In addition, he continues, "the heart pumps more easily " because "the main vein that carries blood from the lower extremities is on the right side of the body, and sleeping on the left side reduces pressure on it."
For pregnant women , sleeping in this position "improves blood circulation to the placenta and relieves pressure on organs like the liver and kidneys," notes the pharmacist and nutritionist.
On the other hand, this posture also drains the lymphatic system better . "It's good for your liver because it will function better, as we reduce the pressure the body exerts on it," he concludes.
